TEHRAN (IQNA) – An amazing fact that people take for granted is that everyone’s fingerprints are different from those of others.

Surah Al-Qiyama

This is a scientific fact and the Holy Quran, in Surah Al-Qiyama refers to it as a sign of God’s power.

The name of the 75th chapter of the Quran is Al-Qiyama. It has 40 verses and is in the 29th Juz. It is Makki and the 31st Surah revealed to the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Al-Qiyama means the Resurrection Day. It is a day when all people rise from their graves and move toward their eternal fate, either in paradise or in hell.

In the first verse of the Surah, God swears by the Resurrection Day and reminds people of that day. The name of the Surah comes from this verse.

The Surah highlights the certainty of the Resurrection Day and talks about what it looks like. It says people are divided in two groups on that day: One who have bright faces and the other with gloomy faces.

The chapter criticizes human beings for opting for the world and forgetting the hereafter, noting that they will regret this on the Day of Judgment.

It says “In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul,” (Verse 14) whether or not they make up pretexts or deny their wrongdoings.

The chapter also tells deniers who they doubt God’s power to resurrect them while He has already brought them to existence from nothingness.

“Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger.” (Verses 3 and 4)

These verses were revealed when one of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) neighbors asked him how God will assemble the bones of the dead. God says here that not only the bones but even the finger prints will be restored.

At the time there was no knowledge about people having different fingerprints. It has just been discovered recently with scientists proving that every person has a unique fingerprint.
