Quranic, Religious Figures Attend Program for Nurturing Quranic Talents
The program has been launched by the International Quran Center affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine.
Ahmed al-Shami, who is in charge of the program, said that this is the fifth edition of its activities, the website of the Astan reported.
He added that Sheikh Zaman al-Hisnawi was among the personalities who came to visit the activities and in a speech elaborated on the importance of manifestation of Quranic teachings in life.
Al-Shami noted that the program also hosted Sheikh Jawad al-Nasrawi, director of the Quran Institute of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine, who in a speech talked about the characteristics of great men of God and said Quranic concepts are manifested in their behavior and conduct.
Al-Nasrawi also called on those taking part in the program to help identify Quranic talents in their own cities and towns, al-Shami went on to say.
Prominent Iranian Quran reciter Karim Mansouri also attended one of the program’s sessions, during which he recited verses from the Quran, talked about his Quranic experiences and had some recommendations for the participants, al-Shami went on to say.
The fifth edition of the Quranic plan aiming to nurture Iraq’s Quranic talents got underway in the holy city of Karbala last month.
Seventy boys and girls who are talented in Quran memorization and recitation are taking part in the program. They are representing 12 provinces of Iraq.
The program seeks to encourage the talented qaris and memorizers and enhance their Quranic skills.
It is being implemented under the supervision of the custodian of the holy shrine Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalayi.
A number of Quran experts from Iraq and other countries teach the lessons offered in different Quranic fields.
