The convoy entered the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on December 22 with the aim of organizing Quranic gatherings across the country on the occasion of the second martyrdom anniversary of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.
Shoja Zavidat and Hadi Esfidani recited verses of the Quran at PMU bases.
Members of the convoy also attended a Quranic session in Baghdad’s Nahrawan which was participated by the head of local tribes.
Ibrahim Fallah Tabasim Chehreh, Yousef Izadi, Raad Alboghbish, Saeed Parvizi, Seyed Jassem Mousavi, Seyed Foad Shokavi, Vahid Vakili, Seyed Mostafa Hosseini, Hadi Esfidani and Shoja Zavidat are members of this convoy.
According to Zawidat, the group is due to hold 90 Quranic circles in Baghdad, Wasit, Maysan, Dhi Qar, Ninawa, and Diyala governorates till the martyrdom anniversary of General Soleimani on January 3.
General Soleimani, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and a number of their entourage were killed in a strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport in the early hours of January 3, 2020.
The White House and the Pentagon claimed responsibility for the assassinations, saying the attack was carried out at the direction of then US president Donald Trump.
