Members of Iran’s Hajj Quranic Convoy to Leave for Medina in Mid-May

IQNA – The members of Iran’s Quranic convoy for Hajj will depart for Saudi Arabia on May 15.

This was announced during a meeting held in Tehran on Sunday to brief the convoy about their mission and activities during the Hajj pilgrims.

Head of the Quranic Affairs Center of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization Hamid Majidimehr, Supreme Quran Council Deputy Mohammad Taqi Mirzajani, and head of the convoy Ali Salehi Matin also attended the meeting.  

Mirzajani said at the session that the convoy will stay in Saudi Arabia for about 40 days and will return to the country in early July.

He also highlighted the importance of the convoy’s activities during Hajj and called on its younger members to benefit from the experiences of the more experienced ones.

Majidimehr also addressed the meeting, saying the members of the convoy should strive to make the best of the spiritual journey and fulfil their mission.

Being able to both perform Hajj and go to the land of revelation as a member of a Quranic convoy is a unique experience, he stated.

Iran also sends pilgrims as well as a groups of Quran activists, known as the Noor Hajj Delegation.

The members of the delegation hold Quranic programs, including Quran recitation session for the pilgrims in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.
