Quran and Islamic Art Exhibition Underway in New Delhi

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An exhibition titled ‘Quran and Islamic Art’ was launched in the Indian capital of New Delhi this Thursday.

It has been organized by the Jamia Millia Islamia university in cooperation with the Iranian cultural center in India, IRNA reported.


The expo features four sections including Kitaba (writing) of Quran and Quranic artworks.


According to Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmad Alami, deputy of the center, the exhibition aims to promote the Quranic culture and help the university students and scholars get more acquainted with Quranic and Islamic arts.


The 8-day expo showcases 800 works of art, including a large 5 by 6 meter copy of the Quran and a very small one.


India has around 200 million Muslims, making it the country with the third-largest Muslim population in the world.
