Largest Quran Copy Written on Parchment by Iranian Artists

The largest copy of the Quran written on parchment is on display at the Iranian Arts Exhibition mounted in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

A number of Iranian artists spent 15 years and used 2 kg of gold and 1830 precious stones such as diamonds, emeralds, and rubies to make the rare copy.

It is on show along with a number of other Quranic works at the Position of the Holy Quran in Persian Art exhibition, Al-Maniyeh website reported.

Jointly organized by Iran’s Supreme Higher Education Council and the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the exhibition was opened in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, January 26.

Among other works of art on show at the expo is the Fajr (dawn) Quran copy that weighs 110 kilograms and has a copper cover.

The Quranic exhibition will be running in the capital of the United Arab Emirates until February 4.
