TEHRAN (IQNA) – An Iranian cleric says racial prejudices are one of the important factors for the formation of tensions between people from different countries.

Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST), made the remarks on Friday while addressing the 18th International Muslim Forum in Moscow, Russia.

Racial and tribal prejudice and grudge play a big role in the formation of tensions between nations, he said, adding, brotherhood can only be achieved after setting these grudges aside.

The main aim of divine religions is to establish peace in the life of humankind, Shahriari noted, highlighting that justice is a feeling that gives life to individuals and society.

Lack of justice will lead to abolishing all aspirations related to development and progress, he added.

Brotherhood among people will lead to positive relations between nations, Shahriari said, adding, “this is not a dream as it is rooted in the Fitrat of humans which is based on love.”

“Our Islamic, scientific, literary, and ethical heritage is full of invitation to love,” he noted, adding that love is a means to know God Almighty.

The 18th International Muslim Forum has summed up celebrations of the 1,100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria state.

Many religious figures addressed the international forum. Russian mufti, Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin called for a just world order from the standpoint of the East. Chairman of the Turkish Department of Religious Affairs Ali Erbash spoke about the connection between justice and security.

Furthermore, the Palestinian President's Advisor for Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habbash accused Israel and the US of violating international law. The main two words, justice and new world order, became the leitmotif of the plenary session.
