According to Kuwait News Agency, the secretary of Kuwait’s Awqaf Office said the competition will be organized in cooperation with the country’s Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

Mansour Al-Sa’qabi, head of the organizing committee of the competition, said that “Spring of Hearts” is the motto of this edition of the Quranic event.

He added that the main objective of the contest is to encourage Kuwaiti people to read the Quran, learn Tajweed principles and memorize and contemplate the verses.

More than 2500 male and female Quran activists will participate in this edition, he said.

The first edition of the Quran memorization competition in Kuwait was held in 1997.

This year’s winners will be awarded a total of 150,000 Kuwaiti Dinars.
