Int’l Quran Competition Underway in Bahrain

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The preliminary stage of the 16th edition of “Sayyed Junaid Alim” international Quran award is underway in Manama, Bahrain.

 

According to Al-Watan news, Ishaq Rashid Al-Kouhaji, head of the official council of the Association for Serving the Holy Quran in Bahrain, said that some 140 Quran memorizers from 70 countries have participated in the competition.

It is supervised by a group of top Quran competition referees from Bahrain, he added.

The final stage of the competition will be held from November 23 to 27 and winners will be awarded in the closing ceremony of the international event on November 27.

Bahrain’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has contributed to the organization of the Quran competition, the official said.

The “Sayyed Junaid Alim” International Quran Award has been organized by the association in cooperation with the Sayyed Junaid Alim Institute.

It was ranked as the top international Quran competition in 2014 by the International Association of Quran Memorization.
