Tunisia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs to Hold Quran Competition

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Ministry of Religious Affairs in Tunisia plans to hold a Quran competition to identify top Quran activists who can represent the country at international Quran competitions.

 

 

According to journalistesfaxien.tn, it said the competition will include two categories of memorization of the entire Quran with Tajweed principles and Quran recitation.

The Quran memorization category will be held for male and female participants aged 12 to 30.

Male Quran reciters aged 15 to 40 can compete in the Quran recitation category. They should also be memorizers of  at least 5 Hizbs (sections) of the Quran.

Tunisia is a North African country bordering the Mediterranean Sea and Sahara Desert.

Islam is the official state religion in Tunisia. Approximately 99 percent of the population of the country is Muslim.
