200-Year-Old Manuscript to Be Published in Karbala

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Center for Reviving Cultural and Religious Heritage of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine plans to publish a 200-year-old manuscript by Allameh Sayyed Ibrahim Qazvini, an eminent Iranian jurist.

 

According to the website of the Astan, the precious manuscript titled “Dalail Al-Ahkam fi Sharh-i Sharai’ Al-Islam” is a 17-volume collection of Islamic injunctions.

Ihsan Khuzair Abbas, head of the center, said that the project is a part of the series of research studies being conducted at the center to collect and publish manuscripts and valuable Islamic works written by scholars in the holy city of Karbala.

Sayyed Ibrahim Mousawi Qazvini (b. 1214/1799 d. 1264/1848) was a Shia jurist and a scholar of Usul. He was the author of Zawabit al-Usul. 

Ibrahim was born in Qazvin, Iran. He moved to Kermanshah with his father when he was a child. He studied the preliminaries with scholars and teachers there. He then moved to Iraq and resided in Karbala.
