Islamic Revolution’s Victory, A Historic, Political Miracle
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s president described the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution as a historic and political miracle.
Speaking in a ceremony in Tehran on Monday, Hassan Rouhani said despite attempts by many in the world to prevent the revolution’s success and global powers’ support for the former regime, the revolution was victorious due to the presence, self-sacrifice, steadfastness and resistance of the people.
He added that since the revolution threatened the interests of great powers, they have been seeking to harm the Iranian nation in the past 39 years.
By toppling the US-backed Pahlavi regime 39 years ago, the Iranian nation ended 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.
The Islamic Revolution established a new political system; a republic based on Islamic values and democracy.
